Actress Jazz Raycole was the first to be cast as Claire Kyle in 2001, in the first dozen episodes of the ABC sitcom My Wife and Kids.

However, she was replaced by Jennifer Freeman in the second season.

Why was Jazz Raycole replaced?

Raycole was replaced by Jennifer Freeman on My Wife and Kids because her mother wasn’t cool with it, and the producers also wanted somebody older.

“I was 12 years old when I got that job. The producers wanted a different thing, they wanted someone a little bit older. I wasn’t ready for that,” Raycole had once said.

“I ended up going to New York to dance, which was my first passion. I really thank God for that because I got to grow and travel”, she added.
