Who Is Erika Cirioni?

Erika Cirioni was a student at the University of Cаliforniа, Berkeley Cirioni. She graduated high school in 1998. Cirioni who was 26 at the time of her disappearance grew up in Norwich, Connecticut. 

Cirioni became a mother to her son at the young age of 16. Just a few years later, she gave birth to her younger son.

The mother-of-two worked in retail as a counter clerk. Just like any other young person, she loved hanging out with her friends. 

On December 31, 2006, she went out to celebrate New Year’s Eve. That was the last time that her family saw her alive.

Cirioni’s family was horrified after one of her friends knocked at her mother’s home asking about her. 

Erika was last seen downtown before she sat in a vehicle and left. During the initial investigation of the case, it hit a wall until March 2012. They identified Erika’s body with her dental records when police discovered her body six years later. 

How Did Erika Cirioni Die?

The state police eventually classified the death of Erika Cirioni as homicide in 2012 when they discovered her body. They found Cirioni’s body buried in Montville four years ago.

After six years of her disappearance, children playing in the woods off Oxoboxo Dam Road in Montville found her remains while it was partially buried.

The authorities even offered a reward of $50,000 for any information leading to an arrest and conviction on the case.

Followingly, back in 2018, her mom mentioned that she got an unsettling message on Facebook. The girl who messaged Erika’s mom claimed to know what happened to her daughter Erika. 

She stated that Erika was in a violent altercation with a person who later strangled her to death. The girl also went to describe what Erika was wearing that night, giving credibility to her story. 

However, everything turned out lifeless and the case has stayed cold ever since.
