One of America’s most popular voice-over artists, Peter Robbins has died. He died on  Tuesday, January 25, 2022, aged 65. His family confirmed his death, saying he committed suicide.

The California native began voicing Charlie Brown when he was just 9 years old.

He also provided the voice of the title character in 1965’s A Charlie Brown Christmas and 1966’s It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

Robbins would go on to get a tattoo of the character as well one as of Snoopy as tributes to the comic strip characters created by Charles Schulz.

Before his death, he had bipolar and issues with his ex-girlfriend, which got him convicted.

He was arrested at the U.S.-Mexico border in San Ysidro in January 2013 for threatening and stalking his ex-girlfriend, Shawna Kern, and La Jolla plastic surgeon Lori Saltz.

According to investigators, Robbins began stalking Saltz after she performed a breast enhancement surgery on Kern.

Robbins and Kern broke up following her plastic surgery. He then repeatedly demanded a refund from Saltz, stalking and threatening to kill the surgeon if she didn’t pay him back, according to prosecutors.

He discussed his time behind bars in an interview with Fox 5 San Diego after his release from prison in 2019,

Robbins told the news outlet: “I would recommend to anybody that has bipolar disorder to take it seriously because your life can turn around in the span of a month, like it did to me.”

“I came out of prison and I’m a better person for it. I’m much more humble and grateful and thankful that I lived through the experience.”
