A homeless man who was set on fire while he slept inside a Manhattan stairwell has passed away due to his injuries. He clung to his life for 13 days after the horrifying incident. Police obtained the video of the incident, and it was later made available to the news media sites. 

Terry attacked the homeless man by using a handheld lighter and set it to the man’s left leg. The video shows the fire slowly engulfing the victim’s body. The incident occurred at Samuel Gompers Houses on Pitt Street on November 5. 

Who Is Nathaniel Terry?

Terry lives in the Samuel Gompers Houses, Pitt Street, New York. When the police knocked at his apartment, no one answered the door on Saturday. He lived in the apartment with three other people including, an older woman who might be his mother. Nathaniel’s mother is differently-abled. 

Nathaniel’s neighbor, John, found it hard to believe he would commit such a horrific crime. There are usually a lot of people coming and going from his apartment. The family also had dogs, and they would often play with the dogs at the park.

He was dating and had a girlfriend. The name of his girlfriend has not been revealed. People would not suspect he would do that as he always seemed like an upstanding guy.

Terry’s current age is 27 years old. It is unclear if he was a part of worldstarhiphop.

The building had homeless people sleeping in hallways and using drugs out in the open, making it a rough place.

Nathaniel was arrested and jailed on the day of the attack. He was charged with attempted murder, arson, and assault. The harrowing incident is ruled a homicide by the NYPD. 

A 911 caller revealed that the victim had a crack pipe on his lap and it might have ignited the clothes. They also revealed that they had to put water on the victim as he burned.

The surveillance video showed what exactly happened and how Nathaniel torched the homeless man to death.

The homeless man was pronounced dead on Thursday by the NYPD. The identity of the homeless man, aka the victim, has not been announced. 

The unidentified victim had his clothes on, and they melted in his skin. He was burning up, but he was not crying r making any noises. Nathaniel fled the scene when a second man walked over.

The flame built and fumes engulfed the stairway, and the man’s body got entirely inflamed within moments, reports The New York Post.
