Frank Langella was born to Angelina and Frank A. Langella, a business executive, in Bayonne, New Jersey.

He has Italian ancestors.

Frank Langella is a versatile stage and screen actor who first gained acclaim on the New York stage in Seascape before moving on to the title role in Edward Gorey’s “Dracula.”

In Dracula (1979), he reprised the role for the screen and became an international sensation. He has done a few films over the years, but he prefers to focus on his first love, legitimate theatre.

His stage performances ranged from the drama by Strindberg (The Father) to comedy by Nol Coward (Present Laughter). He also appeared in several New York Shakespeare Festival productions.

Frank A. Langella III is the first son born to Frank and his ex-wife Ruth Weil.

The couple was together for 19 years until they divorced in 1996. Langella III has a sister named Sarah.
