Joe Manchin’s houseboat is the hottest ticket in Washington, Manchin lives on a boat because he doesn’t like living here.

Manchin lives there when he is in town, it could be just as easily described as a houseboat” though he purchased it for $220,000.

According to Boats.com, any vessel “over 40 feet long almost always qualifies” as a yacht. By the length standard alone, that would qualify “Almost Heaven” as a yacht.

The vessel, built in 2001, is 65 feet long, according to Coast Guard documents provided to PolitiFact by the NRSC.

Manchin himself said of the semi-mysterious doings onboard his precious vessel. “There’s gatherings we have on Almost Heaven. We know each other and talk to each other.

The U.S. senator from West Virginia was sporting a bandage on his forehead while talking to reporters, an injury he says he sustained fixing a sink, not partying, on the boat.
