Multiple problems template Rudy Maxa (born 1949 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a consumer travel specialist in the United States. He’s the host and executive producer of 85 half-hour travel programmes called Smart Travels: Europe with Rudy Maxa, Smart Travels: Pacific Rim with Rudy Maxa, and—since 2008—Rudy Maxa’s World, which air on public television in the United States. His most recent 20 episodes of Rudy Maxa’s World, which have won many accolades, including two regional Emmys, are also aired internationally on Travel Channel International. Maxa also presents America’s most extensively syndicated radio travel programme, Rudy Maxa’s World, a two-hour weekend show.         Maxa started his career in journalism as an investigative reporter, magazine writer, and personality columnist at The Washington Post (1971–1983) after graduating from Ohio University (BSJ, ’71). He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his reporting on a Capitol Hill sex scandal and the subsequent reforms in legislative procedures, and he won the John Hancock Award for Excellence in Business and Financial Journalism for a series of articles on an international Ponzi scam. He left the Post to serve as a senior editor at Washingtonian, a city magazine, from 1983 to 1992, then as the Washington bureau head of Spy magazine from 1992 to 1994. He is a multi-award-winning writer.
