American heavy metal vocalist Ronald James Padavona, better known by his stage as Ronnie James Dio, was born on July 10, 1942, and passed away on May 16, 2010.

Throughout his career, he fronted and created various bands, including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio, and Heaven & Hell.

Ronnie has a child named Dan Padavona. We do not have much information about his child.

He unintentionally cut his thumb in September 2003 while gardening when a large garden gnome landed on it.

Dio worried that he wouldn’t be able to do his trademark “devil’s” horns hand motion anymore, but a doctor was able to reattach it.

Dio revealed on November 25, 2009, that he had been given a stomach cancer diagnosis and was receiving treatment at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Due to Dio’s health, Heaven & Hell announced on May 4, 2010, that they were postponing all summer gigs. His final live performance occurred on August 29, 2009, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with Heaven & Hell. The sickness claimed Dio’s life on May 16, 2010.
