Leigh Anne Tuohy is an American businesswoman and interior designer who was born on August 9, 1960. She is well-recognized for being Michael Oher’s adoptive mother. Both the 2009 feature film The Blind Side and the 2006 book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game highlighted their narrative. Sandra Bullock, who won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for her portrayal, played Tuohy in the movie.

Tuohy and her husband had owned 115 fast food restaurants, including Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, and Long John Silver’s, but now only possess 11 after selling the bulk in six different transactions.

Tuohy also works as an interior designer. She was one of three new design team members for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2010.

Tuohy and her husband are also co-authors of the 2010 book In a Heartbeat: Sharing the Power of Cheerful Giving.

She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to Virginia and Stanley Roberts, a United States air marshal. Stanford Roberts is her brother, while Bradford and Wade Roberts are her nephews.
