When Heather was 12 years old, she went to Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida, the U.S. As a tennis player, she was an admirer of players like Serena but now we can see that she is performing better than her idol.

She won the British U-14 Championship in 2006. Later she also won the U-16 Championship too. She also reached the semi-finals of the U-18 Championship but eventually, she lost in Semi-finals in 2008 to Tara Moore.
