According to Lt. Pat Evans of the Draper Police Department, a motorcyclist struck James around 9 p.m. Monday.

James is survived by a lovely wife and five beautiful children.

As per the GoFundMe page, “Jd’s sudden death was devastating, especially for his beloved wife. We can do nothing right now to bring him back, but prayers for his dear family will be greatly appreciated.”

Officer Evans said Mair stepped onto the road near 900 East Rosefield Lane to slow down the 19-year-old male driver. The rider was also speeding, according to witnesses.

Mair died Tuesday morning after being taken to a local hospital with severe injuries. The teen motorcyclist was also taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Evans stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that no signs of DUI have been found.
