Since 1995, Freddy Ramirez has dedicated himself to the Miami-Dade Police Department. He first had his professional beginning with the designation of Police Officer Trainee from 1995 until 1996. Then, he served four years as an uninformed patrol officer, two years in Detective-Agriculture Patrol Unit, and one year in Sergeant- Uniform Patrol.

He also served as Sergeant- Narcotics Bureau, Lieutenant-Hammocks District-Uniform Patrol for one year, then Lieutenant in the general investigation unit for two years, became a captain in the Narcotics Bureau for three years, major in the Homicide Bureau for one year, and then became the chief of Criminal Investigation Division for another one year.

Freddy gave 19 years to the police department, having different designations and promotions. After that, he was promoted to assistant director of investigative services for one year, assistant director of police services for two years, deputy director for one year, and then director for another two years.

Beginning as assistant director, he gave nearly additional seven years to the police department. Since March 2022, he has been working as Interim Chief of Public Safety based in Miami-Dade County. Freddy gave 26 years to the law enforcement profession.

Freddy Ramirez shot himself with the gun and wounded his head. As per the news, no one else has been injured in this shooting. For now, Freddy is in critical but stable condition. He attempted to have suicide at the age of 52 on Sunday, 23-07-2023 after he was traveling to Tampa.

As per the sources, it is said that he was in the car with his wife when he pulled over by the side of the road and shot himself with the gun. He was immediately taken to the Tampa General Hospital, where he was said to be in critical but stable condition. Also, he is expected to survive the situation, and the police department is investigating to know the reason behind such an incident.
