DiRT Showdown will not be bringing its varied track types to North American consoles on May 29. Instead, Codemasters and Warner Bros. have decided to push the game and its motorized mayhem back to June 12. The reason for this slight delay is economics, as it makes more sense to release the title during the slower window that next month will bring.

If you’ve been looking forward to the PC version of DiRT Showdown, fear not. Mouse and keyboard users will still be able to purchase the fast-paced racing game next week. It will become available through Steam, starting on May 24.

DiRT Showdown Ship Date Revised to June 12 for North America

Los Angeles – May 16, 2012 – Codemasters has revised the ship date of DiRT Showdown for North America to June 12, 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, after discussions with its distribution partner Warner Bros.

Both Codemasters and Warner Bros believe the move to June, from its original May 29 date, will provide the game with a clearer release window and create a greater opportunity for success at North American retail outlets.

The PC edition is unaffected and holds its global digital release date of next Thursday, May 24, and will be available from Steam.
