According to law enforcement sources, the alleged shooter who opened fire into a crowd and killed two people at a music festival in Washington state on Saturday was stationed at a U.S. Army facility in Western Washington.

Family relatives revealed that the victims were engaged to get married in the meanwhile.

According to a Facebook post by Grant County Sheriff Joe Kriete, James M. Kelly, 26, of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, was arrested on Tuesday and put into the county jail under investigation for two charges of murder, two counts of assault, and one act of domestic violence assault.

He was shot by police on Saturday, and the sheriff reported that he was receiving treatment at a hospital until Tuesday.

Seattle residents Brandy Escamilla, 29, and Josilyn Ruiz, 26, were the two fatalities, according to Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison’s report on Tuesday. According to Morrison, Escamilla perished from a gunshot wound to the head, while Ruiz perished from a gunshot wound to the torso. According to a family fundraising effort, the couple were engaged to be married.

The family of Josilyn Ruiz’s lawyer, Kevin Boyle, informed the CBS affiliate KIRO-TV that the pair had just moved to Seattle’s Ballard district. The two went to the Beyond Wonderland Festival over the weekend and were both nurses.

Around 8:20 p.m. on Saturday, the sheriff’s office said it received a complaint of a shooting at the camping area at the amphitheater close to the small town of George, which is located 149 miles (240 kilometers) east of Seattle. The North Central Washington Special Investigation Unit is looking into Kelly’s shooting by police. No one has been identified as the cop or officers who fired at Kelly.
