Youssou N’Dour is a popular Senegalese singer， songwriter， composer， occasional actor， businessman， and politician.

Youssou N’Dour was born on October 1， 1959， in Dakar， Senegal. He is the son of Youssou N’Dour and Elimane N’Dour. He has a brother called Bouba Ndour.

Youssou N’Dour is well-educated but he has kept his educational background away from the public.

Youssou N’Dour started performing at the age of 12 and regularly for the Star Band which was one popular band in the 1970s. He later joined Super Diamono in 1975.

Youssou N’Dour announced his political ambition in 2012 when he tried contesting the presidential election but was disqualified from running in the election over the legitimacy of the signatures he had collected to endorse his campaign.
