Ariane Labed  is the wife of Yorgos Lanthimos, a Greek film director, film producer, screenwriter, photographer and theatre director.

The couple has been married since 2013. His wife Ariane Labed is a Greek-French film director and actor.

Ariane Labed studied dramaturgy and scenic writing at the University of Provence (DEUST basic theater training, Bachelor of Performing Arts, and master’s degree in dramaturgy and scenic writing.

She co-founded the Vasistas theater troupe with Argyro Chioti and performed in the National Theater of Greece.

Ariane Labedis best known for her performance in Attenberg, directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari, and her appearance in Helen Edmundson’s film Mary Magdalene in 2018.

Labed won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress at the 67th Venice International Film Festival for her performance in Attenberg, directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari, which was her debut film. She appeared in her husband Yorgos Lanthimos’ films Alps and The Lobster.
