American actor and comedian Matthew Paul Walsh was born on October 13, 1964.

In 1982, he earned his high school diploma from Hinsdale South. He was a backup tight end for the football squad in high school.

He attended Northern Illinois University and earned a psychology degree there. He also spent a year studying abroad at Salzburg College in Austria.

He is best known for playing Mike McLintock in the television series Veep, for which he garnered two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

He co-starred in both the original television series and the 2015 remake of the Upright Citizens Brigade sketch comedy group, of which he is a founding member.

He has also served as a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and appeared in a number of short-lived comedy series, including Dog Bites Man and Players.
