LeRoy Butler, a former Packers safety, will be seated in the Pro Football Hall of Fame at the August 6 ceremony. He picked his wife Genesis and a former teammate, Gilbert Brown, to present him with the prestigious honor.

After having his name inscribed in gold lettering at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he must be ecstatic, and his wife, Genesis Jordan’s face, will no doubt be beaming with pride.

Butler was one of 27 semifinalists for the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame class on November 21, 2017. Butler had previously received a nomination to the Hall of Fame, but that was the first time he had been acknowledged as a semifinalist.

In 1990, Butler, Green Bay Packers’ second-round pick, finished his playing career with 38 interceptions and 20.5 sacks. When Butler recorded a sack in 2001, his last season, he made history by being the first athlete in NFL history with 20 or more sacks and 20 interceptions.
