Tina Kotek born September 30, 1966 is an American politician who is now serving as the governor-elect of Oregon. From 2013 to 2022, Kotek was the Speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives.

She was born and raised in the Pennsylvania town of New York. She attended Dallastown Area High School there. In 1987, she moved to Oregon for her undergraduate studies.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in religious studies from the University of Oregon. Tina also has a Master’s degree from the University of Washington in International Studies and Comparative Religion.

This highly educated and brilliant woman became the first lesbian governor of Oregon State in the United States.
