Mr. Villagomez, 49, will succeed Chaz Mueller, who was Progress’ CEO from 2018 until his retirement last year.

One of the reasons for Mr. Villagomez’s hiring was his track record of increasing revenue for a consumer-facing organization.

Mr. Villagomez worked with construction clients at McKinsey and with contractors and huge property companies at Home Depot, despite not having previously worked for a significant real-estate firm.
