Graham Potter has been arrested in Queensland in what appears to be a shack after fleeing for 10 years in connection with the 1981 murder of Kim Barry in Wollongong.

Graham Gene Potter is a murderer who avoided Victoria police for 12 years and was detained in Far North Queensland. He has been wanted since 2010 after allegations that he was unable to appear in the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and drug offenses in the Commonwealth.

Potter was allegedly hired in 2008 to kill a man at the wedding of Melbourne celebrity son Mick Gatto. He also faces more than $ 440 million charges of ecstasy and smuggling cocaine in the same year.

The 64-year-old man was arrested Monday morning in the Queensland region of Tablelands. Victorian detectives are now set to travel to Queensland to help with Potter’s extradition. Gene is expected to appear in the Mareeba Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
