Anne Heche was born the youngest of five children to Nancy Heche and Donald Joseph Heche.

She also claimed that her father repeatedly raped her until she was 12, giving her genital herpes in the process.

During her childhood, her family moved a total of eleven times and at one point, they lived in an Amish community.
