During Julia Roberts’ pregnancy, her parents co-founded the Actors and Writers Workshop in Atlanta and conducted a children’s acting school in Decatur, Georgia.

The school was attended by the children of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King; Walter Roberts was the acting coach for their daughter, Yolanda Denise King.

Bredemus and Roberts created Bum Bum and His Buddies, a children’s show for a local network, in 1965. They had a short-lived series called Creole Capers before that.
