Sofia Balbi is an ambitious Uruguayan businesswoman who has gained recognition through her marriage to former Barcelona and Uruguay international footballer Luiz Suarez.

Sofia Balbi was born on October 11, 1989, in Montevideo, Uruguay to a middle-class family of parents who are both Uruguayans. Her father is a banker.

She spent the first 14 years of her life in Uruguay before moving to the Spanish city of Barcelona in 2003 together with her then-boyfriend Luiz Suarez.
