Shirley Cuban died Friday in her Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, home after a battle with lung cancer, according to The Dallas Morning News.

The mother of three, whose maiden name was Feldman, grew up near Pittsburgh and lived life “on her own terms, even as cancer ran its course,” according to a tweet from Brian Cuban on Saturday. “She was feisty, one-of-a-kind in so many ways, and she never met a stranger.”

According to the Morning News, the Carlow College graduate was also a die-hard fan of the Dallas Mavericks, an NBA team owned by Mark Cuban.

According to the newspaper, she and her husband, Norton, lived in Dallas from the early 2000s until Norton died in 2018. The Associated Press reports that she later relocated back to the Pittsburgh area.
