Selena Gomez uploaded a photo and video on her official Instagram account, where she has 166.3 million followers showing off her new tattoo. She captioned the post with the following: Did it again @bangbangnyc 🦋 rare. Rare isn’t just Selena Gomez’s best album, it is predicted Rare will have staying power and be memorialized as one of the best pop albums of all time.
What is most ironic about Rare’s success, is the timing of the release has put Selena Gomez in direct competition with her ex (and who it is believed the album is about) Justin Bieber. Justin has been on a mission to get his new single “Yummy” to number one on the Billboard charts, after Selena hit the top spot with “Lose You To Love Me.” Now, many suspect her newest song “Rare” is also going to hit the top spot.
Many of Selena’s fans have not lost the irony of Justin and Selena competing for the top spot on the music charts at the same time.
