Rudolph Bernard Isley was born on April 1, 1939, and at the time of his death, he was 84 years old. The second of Sallye (Bell) and O’Kelly Isley’s six boys was born in Cincinnati. 

His name is Rudolph Bernard Isley. As a young child, he started singing in church, and when he was a teenager, he and three of the other elder Isleys performed and toured the area.

Vernon, the oldest brother, used to sing lead in the group’s early years. When he was 13 years old, a car struck his bicycle, killing him, and Ronald took over as the main singer.
