Following an incident at a Machesney Park construction site, a 69-year-old man passed away.

The man, who is 69 years old, is named Roger Stambaugh. When a concrete sewer pipe moved towards Stambaugh and pinned him against a machine, he was standing close to an excavator

Stambaugh was transported to a neighbouring hospital where he was later declared dead.

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Fischer Excavating received a citation for a related event in 2022. An excavator struck the worker during the incident.

The business’s most recent citation, which came with a punishment of more than $65,000, was from 2013.

The Fischer Excavating employee who passed away while working on the storm sewer project along Steele Drive is mourned deeply by the village of Machesney Park. According to James Richter, the village administrator, an investigation is being carried out by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department.
