Randy Parton, a singer-songwriter and the younger brother of country music legend Dolly Parton, died after a cancer battle just last year.

He was 67 years old at the time of death.

Randy Parton was the eighth of 12 children born to Robert and Avie Lee and the second of the Hall of Famer’s siblings to pass away in recent years, following Floyd Parton, who died in December 2018 at the age of 61.

Randy, who had played guitar and bass in Dolly’s band for many years and had his own show at Dollywood since 1986, was also an important part of Dolly Partin’s career. He recorded duets with his sister, Dolly, including (Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You) and (You Are My Christmas), for Dolly’s 2020 Christmas album.

Dolly issued a formal statement via her website and social media. Randy, her brother, had succumbed to cancer. It is speculated that Randy was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer.

Randy Parton left behind his wife Deb, daughter Heidi, son Sabyn, and grandchildren Huston and Trent.
