George Denis Patrick Carlin was an American stand-up comedian, actor, social critic, and author.

He married Brenda Hosbrook at her mother’s parent’s home in Dayton on June 3, 1961. They renewed their wedding vows 10 years later in Las Vegas. However, before Carlin’s 60th birthday, on May 11, 1997, Hosbrook passed away of liver cancer.

Carlin remarried Sally Wade in a private and unregistered ceremony on June 24, 1998. Sadly, he passed away two days before their 10th wedding anniversary on June 22, 2008.

Kelly Marie Carlin, born June 15, 1963, is an American actress, producer, radio host, and screenwriter. She is the only child born to comedian George Carlin and his first wife, Brenda Hosbrook.

Her career began as a production assistant and photographer for two of her father’s early HBO specials: George Carlin: Again! and Carlin on Campus.

After she divorced her first husband Andrew Sutton, she graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Communications Studies in 1993. The following year, she co-wrote the episode “George Pulls the Plug” for the second season of The George Carlin Show with her second husband, Robert McCall.

After her father’s death, she initially discussed publishing an oral history of her father’s life based on stories by friends and family. However, by December 2008, she went in another direction and focused on her own memoirs.
