Parag Agrawal is of Indian descent. He was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His father worked for the Indian Department of Atomic Energy as a top officer and his mother is a retired school teacher. He is also known to have a sibling but none of his family members’ names is known.

He finished his formal education in Mumbai and then went to join the reputed Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.
