The community of Elmhurst, Illinois is heartbroken, mourning the sudden loss of a beloved mother of three, whose son, bright York Community High School student Owen Dettman, tragically passed away due to a seizure. In this challenging time, Caroline Dettman, a graduate of Herricks High School, is receiving an outpouring of love and prayers from the entire community.

Seventeen-year-old Owen was a remarkable, perceptive, and diligent young man who held a deep affection for his parents, older brother, and twin brother. Alongside his passion for the arts, Owen took delight in acting out the roles of his favorite fictional characters in theatrical performances.

Owen attended York Community High School, located at 355 W St Charles Road in Elmhurst, Illinois. It has been determined that Owen’s passing was a result of a seizure.
