Oona Castilla Chaplin is a Spanish-Swiss actress.

She is best known for her roles as Talisa Maegyr in the HBO TV series Game of Thrones, Kitty Trevelyan in the BBC drama The Crimson Field, and Zilpha Geary in the series Taboo.

Oona Chaplin was born on June 4, 1986, in Madrid, Spain, into the multinational acting Chaplin family. Her mother is the English-American actress Geraldine Leigh Chaplin and her father is the Chilean cinematographer Patricio Castilla.

She has one sibling, a half-brother named Shane from her mother’s former relationship with the film director Carlos Saura.

From her mother’s side, she has quite an influential and powerful lineage. Her mother, Geraldine, is the first child of Charlie Chaplin and his fourth wife, Oona O’Neill.

Her claim to fame came with her portrayal of Tonya in David Lean’s Doctor Zhivago. For this breakout role, she received a Golden Globe nomination.
