Obituary | Joanne Washburn of Marlborough, Massachusetts Passes Away
Isabella Floyd On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, Joanne Washburn of Holiday Park passed away at William Penn Treatment Center while receiving hospice care. To the late John and Rose (Kubat) Hoffmann in Latrobe,
she was born on December 14, 1940. After 56 years of marriage, she is survived by her son Brian (Shelli) Washburn of Aubrey, Texas, her daughter Megan Burke of Penn Hills, and her husband Robert W. Washburn of Holiday Park. Shayla, Jaden, Declan, and Kalynn, her grandchildren, will miss her.
Her sister Bernadine, who lives in Ocala, Florida, is also still alive. In-laws include Glenda and the late Tom Washburn, as well as Dave (Judy) Washburn of Delmont, George (Chris) Washburn of Easton, Bill (Betty Ann) Washburn of Greensburg, and Ed (Paula) Washburn of Delmont.
Longtime resident of Plum, Joanne belonged to the Our Lady of Joy Parish. Joanne was a devoted sports enthusiast who attended four Stanley Cup victories with late friend and fellow Penguins supporter Molly Waltenbaugh as a season ticket holder and supported the Steelers and Pirates during their championship runs. She took great delight in caring for her house, yard, and tomato plants, as well as in making her own homemade noodles and spaghetti sauce.
A memorial ceremony will be place at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the MAURICE L. KNEE LTD. FUNERAL HOME, 7663 Saltsburg Road (across from S & T Bank), Plum, PA 15239, where family and friends are invited to celebrate Joanne’s life from 4 to 6 p.m.
