Missing Alison Thomas Found Dead
Isabella Floyd Monroe, North Carolina authorities have confirmed that the body of a missing woman was discovered over the weekend.
Union County Sheriff Eddie Cathey issued a statement saying that deputies from Jackson County were notified of a body in their jurisdiction. It was determined that the woman was 37 years old and named Alison Thomas in an initial identification.
The bus monitor who is accused of stabbing a worker at the Watson Institute is unlikely to go to trial.
According to WSOC, Thomas’s murder has been determined to have been intentional.
On February 13, Cathey reported that Thomas was last seen in the northwestern part of Union County. As of February 17th, no one had heard anything about her disappearance.
On Sunday, close to the Nantahala National Forest, a person in the Tuckaseegee area stopped along a dirt road, where the body of Thomas was later found, according to WSOC. Someone like that discovered Thomas’s body. This is a very out-of-the-way place.
Cathey said the NC State Bureau of Investigation, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office are all collaborating to identify the perpetrator.
Law enforcement officials have stated that they believe this to be an isolated incident.
Thomas’s official cause of death has not been disclosed.
