A Warwick, Rhode Island native, she became interested in the show business at an early age. Following her schooling from Toll Gate High School, she graduated from Fordham University. McManus then went on to attend NYU's graduate acting program and the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) before pursuing her acting career in Los Angeles. She began her career in 2006, initially appearing in a few short films. Two years later, McManus had a major role on television when she starred in ‘One Tree Hill’. That year, she also began playing Lt. Janel Tyler in the sci-fi drama series ‘The Orville’. Her projects in 2018 included a guest appearance in an episode of ‘The Magicians’. A year later, the actress was cast in the main role of Sarah in ‘The Village’. The series, also starring Moran Atias and Frankie Faison, premiered in March on NBC.
