Melvin Sloan Dies in his Sleep, Tennessee Legendary Grand Ole Opry Dancer
Robert Clark Melvin Sloan, a legendary performer for the Grand Ole Opry, died last night while sleeping. Melvin had a long-standing illness.
Melvin had a deep affection for the Grand Ole Opry. When Ralph, the head of the Ralph Sloan Dancers at the Opry, passed away, Melvin took over.
He took over the troupe as the Melvin Sloan Dancers after learning to dance and retiring on the Grand Ole Opry stage on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Sloan family’s dancing empire.
In a Facebook post J.D Hatfield shared a sad condolences as he announce the passing of Melvin .
