Biography:

Melanie Lynskey was born on May 16, 1977 in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. She attended Victoria University of Wellington where she studied theatre and English literature.

She made her feature film debut with Peter Jackson’s Heavenly Creatures playing the role of Pauline Parker. The film and her performance were both widely acclaimed by critics and audiences alike.

Her next big role came in 1998 when she starred opposite Drew Barrymore in Ever After. She went on to star in other well-known films including Sweet Home Alabama, Flags of Our Fathers and Up in the Air, among others.
