The late Richard Marvin Butkus was an American football linebacker, sports commentator, and actor. He played football for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League from 1965 to 1973.

Dick Butkus was not the only child of his parents John Butkus and Emma Butkus. He has seven siblings who are Ronald, Donald, David, Alberta, Lenore, and John. His older brother Ron played football for three colleges and tried out for the Cardinals before quitting due to a bad knee.

Dick’s siblings were also there for him, they support him and also watch his games.  Dicks older sisters Alberta and Lenore were the backbone of support and always cheering him on from the stands, celebrating his triumphs, and standing by him during challenging times. His sisters acted as pillars of strength for him, and were his biggest fans, their presence at his games acted as a constant source of motivation, knowing they were there to cheer him on.

Dick Butkus also grew up alongside his four brothers. Each brother played a distinct role in shaping Dick’s life and contributed to his rise to fame in the NFL. Ronald, fondly known as Ron, was one of Dick’s older brothers. He too had a passion for football, which he pursued by playing for three different colleges and even auditioning for the NFL’s Chicago Cardinals.
