Kelis Rogers is a vocalist from the United States.

Born on August 21, 1980, in Harlem, New York’s jazz and cultural mecca and family.

Rogers developed an early interest in music as a result of his parents’ encouragement.

Kelis began performing in nightclubs across the country at the age of four with her jazz saxophonist father, Kenneth G. Rogers, who has worked with performers such as Dizzy Gillespie and Nancy Wilson.

Kelis began learning classical violin at the age of two at her mother’s encouragement (she continued her lessons for 14 years) and picked up the saxophone as a teenager.

She also joined the Harlem Girls Choir, following in the footsteps of her three elder sisters.

Kelis’ parents, who come from many ethnic origins, are quite supportive. Kenneth Rogers, her father, was an African-American jazz musician, Pentecostal minister, and former Wesleyan University professor.

Eveliss, a Chinese-Puerto Rican fashion designer, is her mother.
