Metcalfe is open about living a plant-based lifestyle. She revealed how she comes up with her meals to Black America Web. "Fill at least half of your plate with produce, grains, or beans, and downsize your meat serving. Think of a stir-fry heavy on the veggies and grains with thinly sliced strips of beef rather than a big steak with a spear of broccoli. Swap in chopped mushrooms or tofu for half of the ground meat you'd normally use in meatloaf, tacos, chili, or pasta sauce. Or try veggie-based dishes like burritos. Simply a diet based on fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes."
For many vegetarians, vegans, and plant-based eaters, it can be difficult to get enough protein. However, it isn't a problem for Metcalfe. She revealed some of her favorite protein sources to Black America Web. "11 plant-based proteins include natto, spirulina, tempeh, nutritional yeast, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, amaranth, quinoa, black beans, green peas and lentils. You can also try some of the best plant-based protein powders to supplement your protein intake, such as hemp, brown rice and peas."
Metcalfe loves to spend time in the water. She has a lot of posts on Instagram of herself at the beach or the pool. She posted this set of photos from her family's vacation to the Cayman Islands, where they spent time in the ocean.
One workout Metcalfe loves to do is box. She shared this reel on Instagram of herself sparring with her trainer. She captioned the reel, "Keep your hands up and your head on a swivel. Even when you're tired."
In addition to being a doctor and a reality star, Metcalfe is also an activist. Her Instagram is full of posts supporting different causes. Metcalfe also goes to protests. She shared this photo of herself and her husband at a protest for public health on Instagram. She also attended the March on Washington with her co-stars.
