Madelaine Petsch in Two-Piece is "Better Late Than Ever"
Olivia House Madelaine Petsch is living her best life – in her swimsuit. In a new social media post the Riverdale alum shows off her amazing body in a green bathing suit. She captioned the series of snaps, "better late than never," eliciting major compliments from her followers. "You look stunning in every picture it's insane," wrote one, while another added, "the most precious person in the world." How does the star approach health and wellness? Celebwell rounded up her top lifestyle tips.
"I used to feel like I 'had' to work out everyday, I'm not sure why. But lately I've been going to the gym when it sounds fun to me and more for my mental health. I've honestly never felt better or seen better results in my strength. Listen to your body," Petsch revealed in an interview. "The thing I love most about my body is how perplexed I am about all the things it can do. The more I learn about my body the more fascinated I am by it," she added in a Body Scan video for Women's Health. "The more I move the happier I'll be. I link my mental health to working out."
Madelaine, a long time vegan, explains that her diet takes planning. "Protein is something I really have to be aware of in every meal or else my energy levels just go completely downhill," she dished to Women's Health. She added that she's "such a carb fan" but instead of eating white pasta she eats a lot of protein pasta, like red lentil pasta. "I need to hit my salivary glands and I also need to hit my protein."
Madelaine revealed in a social media post that reading is one of her "reset" habits. Why should you pick up a book? One Harvard study published in Social Science & Medicine found that people who read books regularly had a 20% lower risk of dying over the next 12 years compared with people who weren't readers or who read periodicals.
Madelaine is an avid equestrian. "Wholesome," she captioned a recent snap. According to the American Heart Association, riding horses is great for your health. Not only does it boost cardiovascular health, but builds core strength, burns calories, and lowers blood pressure. It is also great for your mental health as it helps relax you.
Madelaine drinks a whopping 11 to 13 500 ml-bottles of water per day. The Mayo Clinic explains that water helps get rid of waste through urination, perspiration, and bowel movements, keeps your temperature normal, lubricates and cushions joints, and helps protect sensitive tissues.
"The body part I love exercising the most is my abs. I think that my abs feel the most pain and I love the feeling of being sore," she told Women's Health. "My trainer does this thing called six-minute abs, which is honestly deathly. They are the hardest thing ever." He doesn't tell me what it is, every minute or 30 seconds he'll switch to a new thing but he'll never tell me because then my brain can't anticipate it."
"I always eat breakfast," Petsch told Women's Health. However, sometimes she won't eat until the evening afterward. "It'll be 5 p.m. and I haven't had lunch. My energy levels will completely drop. That's where I struggle, making time to eat because I'll forget." Madelaine detailed her diet to People, which amounts to 1,700 calories per day.
- Breakfast: Overnight oats made with organic oats, almond milk, chia seeds, cacao nibs, and raspberries, plus coffee with more almond milk.
- Snack: Apple with almond butter; one scoop of Macro Greens powder with water
- Lunch: Spinach salad topped with cranberries, walnuts, chickpeas, brown rice and green goddess dressing.
- Snack: NuGo Slim Crunchy Peanut Butter Vegan Protein Bar
- Dinner: Broccoli "steak" (two heads of broccoli sliced, spiced, and roasted) with vegan cheddar "cheese" with a side of brown rice and black beans.
- Dessert: Vegan banana ice cream .
