We profoundly regret to notify you that Lt. Scott Underwood passed away unexpectedly late on May 19 afternoon; please know that you have our thoughts and prayers at this trying time. We are thinking of you during this difficult time. Lieutenant Underwood spent 21 years working for the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office after being born and raised in the county.

While working for the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office at the time, he dedicated his life to serving and safeguarding the local populace. He conducted his work as a law enforcement officer with such sincere enthusiasm and tenacity that he won the love and respect of everyone who had the chance to serve or work with him.

His attitude contributed to the success of his career in law enforcement. Lt. Underwood treasured his spouse and adored his two sons, who were now in their teenage years. He was a devout family man.

The two boys of Lt. Underwood were now teenagers. We say our goodbyes and grieve the profound loss of our buddy and brother during this horrible moment.
