Long Beach Accident Claims Passenger’s Life; Christian Castillas Arrested

In an unfortunate incident that occurred in Long Beach, a man has been arrested following an early-morning crash that tragically claimed the life of his passenger.

Christian Castillas, 27 years old, was arrested in connection with the incident. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the accident took place in the early hours of a Saturday when Castillas was driving north on the 710 Freeway. Just after 2 a.m., his vehicle collided with the rear of a Long Beach Fire Department ambulance, and as a result, Castillas’ car struck the median.

Tragically, a female passenger in Castillas’ vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time. Fortunately, no one on board the ambulance sustained any injuries. Law enforcement officers believe that the accident was linked to speed and intoxication. Consequently, Castillas was arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony driving under the influence causing bodily injury.
