Lee Byung-hun is a South Korean actor, singer, model and entrepreneur.

Lee Byung-hun was born on July 12, 1970, in Gwangju, Seoul, South Korea to parents Lee Jong-kun and Park Jae-soon. Not much is known about his family background and early life, however, his father is a successful businessman father.

Lee Byung-hun was brought up alongside a sister named Eun-hee Lee, who emerged as the winner in the Miss Congeniality portion of the 1996 Miss Korea beauty pageant.

With regards to his education, Lee Byung-hun graduated from Hanyang University with a major in French Literature, He went on to study at the Graduate School of Chung-Ang University where he majored in Theater and Cinematography.

Lee Byung-hun got his big breakthrough in 2000 for his exceptional performance in Park Chan-wook’s Joint Security Area. He further reached global stardom after he got recognized as an emerging star in Hollywood for his role of Storm Shadow in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, as well as its sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

Lee Byung-hun also won the Best Actor prize in three award ceremonies including the 52nd Baeksang Art Awards, 37th Blue Dragon Awards and 53rd Grand Bell Awards—for his role in the critically acclaimed film ‘Inside Men’ in 2015.
