She is known for her work in both films and television, most notably in the 2001 neo-noir flick ‘Mulholland Drive,’ in which she featured in double roles as Rita and Camilla Rhodes. Born to an organic farmer of Austrian-German descent and a real estate investor and spiritual teacher, Harring spent her early life in Mexico before relocating to San Antonio, Texas. Following her graduation from the prestigious Aiglon College in Switzerland, she entered the world of beauty pageants, ultimately winning the title of Miss USA 1985. Harring then went on to work as a social worker, helping build schools, planting gardens and performing other manual tasks in the villages across India. Eventually, she began acting and continues to act in movies and television programs till date. Currently a divorcee in real life, the actress was earlier married to German politician Count Carl-Eduard von Bismarck-Schönhausen. Two years later, she made her film debut in ‘Silent Night, Deadly Night 3: Better Watch Out’. From 1990 to 1991, she played Carla Greco in the medical drama ‘General Hospital’.
