Kenlee Wallace Died in a Horrible UTV Accident
James Austin A former Kirksville teenager was killed over the weekend when the UTV she was driving overturned in Adair County and ejected her.
The deadly wreck happened at 9:15 p.m. Sunday on Sugar Creek School Trail, four miles southwest of Kirksville.
Investigators confirmed for KTVO News that the victim is Kenlee Wallace, 15, of Eureka, Kan., formerly from Kirksville.
Missouri state troopers said Wallace was traveling downhill on the gravel road when she lost control of the side-by-side she was driving.
Wallace veered off the left side of the roadway and overturned. The teen was thrown from the vehicle.
Wallace was pronounced dead at the scene 15 minutes after the crash.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online crash report, Wallace was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
Family friends told KTVO Wallace and her family had just moved to Kansas in May 2023.
