Kelis met Nas in 2002, and they went on to get married in 2005.

Nas, born Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones, is an American rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He is also the son of a jazz musician, Olu Dara. His brother Jabari Fret, raps under the name “Jungle” and is a member of the group, Bravehearts.

What caused their divorce?

When Kelis was seven months pregnant with their son when she filed for divorce in 2009.

Her reason was divorce was cited as irreconcilable differences and the divorce was finalized in May 2010.
