Katlego Moswane Maboe (born October 29, 1986) is a multi-talented TV presenter, singer, songwriter, and accountant. 

However, his work as the host of the popular morning talk show Expresso on SABC 3 has earned him widespread recognition and acclaim. 

Katlego Maboe has been acknowledged for his remarkable contributions to television hosting by collecting Best TV Presenter honors at the South African Cinema and Television Awards in 2015 and 2016. 

Early Life & Education

Katlego Maboe, born on October 29, 1986, in Ikageng, South Africa, is a well-known media personality. Raised by his mother, Beauty Maboe, he grew up in a small settlement outside Potchefstroom alongside a younger sister, Thato Maboe. 

Katlego Maboe completed high school at Potchefstroom High School for Boys in 2004 and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chartered Accounting from North-West University in 2017, showcasing dedication and hard work in his academic journey.

Career

Katlego Maboe initially pursued a career in accounting before transitioning to the entertainment industry. His on-screen journey began in 2010 when he became a presenter for the SABC2 show Top Billing. After two years, he seized the opportunity to co-host 50/50 with Tracey Lange, continuing until 2016. Following this, he took on the role of host for SABC3’s Expresso.

In 2017, the multifaceted artist launched his debut album, The Beginning, which gained immense commercial success and produced chart-topping singles like Nobody and All I Need.

However, in 2020, Katlego Maboe faced a scandal involving accusations of infidelity by his ex-girlfriend, Monique Muller. The controversy severely affected his professional career, leading to his removal from various television shows, including Expresso, and subjected him to widespread public scrutiny and criticism.

From 2018 to 2020, Katlego Maboe resided in Johannesburg with his then-girlfriend, Monique Muller, and their son, Phoenix Katlego Maboe. Although they were romantically involved during this period, their relationship faced turmoil when Muller accused Maboe of infidelity and abusive behavior. 

Initially denying the allegations, Katlego Maboe later admitted to being unfaithful. As a result, the couple ended their relationship through a divorce settlement in 2020. Since parting ways with Muller, Maboe has maintained privacy regarding his romantic life and dedicated his focus to his career and parenting responsibilities.
