As far as Katharine McPhee is concerned, she is not worried about shedding the pregnancy weight super fast after welcoming her first baby with husband David Foster. Here’s why the American Idol alum is taking her time when it comes to fitting into her old clothes.

During an interview for PEOPLE, Katharine McPhee dished that ‘I thought I’d have this pressure [to bounce back] but I have just been so grateful and happy that I have had a healthy baby and I have felt really good, emotionally and physically. I am so happy that I do not have this crazy pressure yet to fit into whatever jeans in my closet. I do not even think about them right now! In my every day life, I’d have an event coming up or need to work out and it is just really nice to just have a break and be happy where I am.’

This reveal comes after Katharine also opened up about dealing with an eating disorder in the past.

While on the Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy Podcast, the new mom admitted that because of that, she did struggle with some body image issues while expecting her first addition to the family.

‘I have felt very stable in my life in the last 4 or 5 years, and my weight’s been sort of like more consistent. But feeling like there was a relapse after getting pregnant was shocking, upsetting and concerning for me, because I was suddenly obsessed with food, starting from first trimester.’

Fortunately, the celeb is now much more comfortable in her own body and she, as well as her hubby, can just focus on dealing with raising a newborn!

Speaking of, the new mom previously revealed the bundle of joy’s name, Rennie David Foster, on the Today show and she admitted that her husband was ‘was kind of annoyed’ about that.
